As a side note, I looked into NFTs, blockchain, web3 to see if there is a way to sell pdfs that keeps them from being copied and ripped off, and at least for now, this is in not possible.
Web3 validates transactions history, not the actual, individual pdf. Which is a good reason to be a skeptical of all the hype... web3 doesn't seem useful. As a published academic, Ive spent a lot of time managing pdfs (the currency of academia), what a horrible format and use-case.
The utility of computers is that its easy to copy things, but thats also why the economics falls apart (napster/mp3s). Its way easier to cheat on math tests nowadays, but that doesn't change whether its wrong to cheat on math tests... end result is the same; either fail or cheat, you still dont know shit about math.
