On board wash down pump no worky

Went fishing yesterday had a good day, limited out with 14 nice Black sea bass ( rock fish) some to six pounds. So while fishing was going to was blood off deck and wash down pump no work. Power to switch. I have never cleaned the pump with fresh water after trips. I'm thinking pressure switch is stuck with salt. Question is, do you flush your pumps after salt water trips?

Have a shut-off valve on waterpump suction but valve froze years ago so I flush basically 99% of the time. Going on 12 years with same pump and still works about 50% (lack of volume really sucks as I can't hose the seagulls when they try to steal our bait) . When it truly bites the dust we'll replace with same brand/model (probably a Shureflo Blaster II $150 at Westmarine, 3.5gpm). I just put a pvc pipe over the transom edge and barely projects below bottom so it works even underway. I have a black piece of hose I slip over the tip and just apply the waterhose nozzle to it and flush with freshwater. Pumps are expensive but IF you get 12+ years out of them its worth it , kinda like our Yamaha outboard going on 15 years . B & B

Thanks Luk. I found the problem, When I moved the batteries from port rear to starboard side under drivers seat I installed a terminal. When I connected the ground wire bundle the pump wire didn,t make it on, but was hidden from sight. RED faced.
