Neal,

Don't tempt me!  I'll just be content to spend my time using the heck out of my boat this summer, no desire to upgrade.

I have this conundrum where if I get a bigger boat I really need another house with a bigger yard, and then if I spend the $ for that, no money for a bigger boat.

Well then buy this and the aluminum!!  I'm a couple of blocks away.   ;D

I've already driven by that one, couple of issues.  It's a really shady spot, and the next door neighbor has a trash strewn Ted Kazinky style unibomber log cabin.

Found a house I love http://www.trulia.com/property/3086074242-10700-Kasilof-Blvd-Anchorage-AK-99507 but my wife wasn't  keen on the mortgage.

Neal,

Hey, this ones already welded up!

Too bad it's only got a pair of 140's, I'm thinking 225's or 250's would be more like it.

Old thread, but interesting.

2013 dollar now in 2022 shows a 28.29% increase.  So a 24’ Tolman Jumbo should cost somewhere around  38-40k depend9ng on materials chosen, and motor choice.  Now to find $40k.

My widebody build (cape cod) is now up to an estimated (italics - yet to buy...) ~$22K, $7k over my planned $15k budget:

ply/stingers      2000
epoxy         840
glass            500
paint (awlgrip)      500
2022 Merc 60hp      7600
Merc parts (throtlle, harness, prop, etc)   1500
Merc Install      1000
steering/wheel      500
gas tank         500
bilge pump      100
switches/panel      200
battery/cable      300
radar/MFS         4500
trailer         2000

TOTAL:       $22,040

A new similarly sized center console is between $40-70k, but then you can't... 'build a better boat than you can buy.'
best,
