Screwing own transom doublers during the epoxy set up?

I am now ready to install the doubled portions of the transom.  I plan to screw the boards together while they dry.  The lower doubler and the upper "wings" should not be a problem.  However, I have a kit from WCBoatWorks, and the motor doubler is massive!  I am thinking I should figure out a way to screw through the transom and up into the doubler, instead of trying to go down through the doubler into the transom.  This would entail either putting in a couple of screws and then flipping the entire wetted out transom, or wetting out the motor doubler and then putting the transom down on top of it.  In the first procedure I might make some mess, and in the second scenario I might screw up the alignment.  The only other option I can think of is to just drill deep - and I might even drill a few extra holes just to keep better seepage into this beast of a board.  Chuck, if you are reading this this - you build a great kit!
Any suggestions on this step?

I meant screwing down the doublers.
Can't accurately type and/or proofread anymore... not that I was ever good at it.

Tom,
 Maybe dry fit everything together, install and than remove 2 "locator" screws per piece. When gluing up, you screw into those 2 holes first to get back your dry fit alignment. Than you can flip,roll, or do anything you want without any slippage.

Thanks for the feedback - I am considering that procedure; and then once I get a set of screws through the transom and into the doublers I may flip it back again so I can keep and eye on (and deal with) the seepage.  I am especially concerned about the small size of the slot where the floor is to fit in between the doublers.  I don't want any extra seepage filling into that slot during the bonding of the doublers.  In fact, I am considering making it slightly larger so that it will accept a floor board saturated with some epoxy and perhaps a layer of glass.

Any other comments on your experience fitting a floor into the slot between the doublers?

Make the gap oversized.  Much easier to fill in extra space later than hog it out.

I used your suggestion - with a good outcome.
Tomorrow I will pull out the screws and apply glass.
