Greetings, again, everyone. Some more questions for the masses. Can you substitute exterior coated deck screws for the stainless steel screws? And for the jumbo build is the 1 1/8 ply subflooring? Went looking for it and that was the only thing I found. Yes I know that Jamestown has the SS screws for a pretty low price, but I was just curious. Thanks for your attention 🤣🤣😁😁

I would not use anything but stainless.

I only have a WB but I used cheap ass Sheetrock screws. I use them as clamps then remove them, most of them anyway. Seems to me that it shouldn’t matter what kind of screw you use if it’s encapsulated in epoxy tho.

I used silicon bronze screws for anything I was going to leave in.  My understanding is that if they're to be buried, the silicon bronze are best should they become damp for any reason.  Stainless needs some air to hold up, so burying them in epoxy is fine until they become wet/damp.

i used coated deck screws and SS

either way they are just clamps until the glue sets

i've dug out old screws no issues at all - too

I used stainless, some silicon bronze. Also used 7d, double dip halv nails to attach sides and bottom to transom. In 30 years when I scrap the skiff I’ll let you guys know what worked out best ;)
