Hello From NW Washington

Hi, my name is Matt. My father and I are looking at building a wide body in the near future and were wondering if there was anyone in the area that was in the process of building or had a Tolman that we could look at. We were at the Port Townsend wooden boat festival and talked with Ray brown about his build a lot and are hooked. Thank you for all the help and appreciate any information.

Several in the Puget Sound area so I'm sure someone will chime in. I'm in SW WA so not near you unless you're driving by exit #27 off i5 going south. B & B

Howdy. I'm not in your area either, but if you happen to take a wrong turn and end up heading north for 4 days I'd be happy to show you mine.

Welcome --
I'm in the Port Gamble area. I (and 5 others) built a 24' Tolman. For a few more months it is "docked" at a storage facility Poulsbo. Also, you might be interested in a number of left over parts -- some still in box/packages. Feel free to msg me to talk about getting together. The picture below shows the boat on its introduction to the salt chuck.

Thanks everyone for the replies and offers to check out the boats. We travel a bit down to Portland so I’d definitely be up for checking out your boat in SW Washington. We are pretty sure about going with the wide body with a short cabin and small roof to get out the wind a bit. Maybe a small camper canvas on the back. This forum has been a great resource. I appreciate the responses and will be in touch soon. Thank you.

I’m on Bainbridge Island building a 25’ Jumbo. I’m seasonal and I’ll be back late April. It’s flipped and I started the cabin. You are more than welcome to take a look when I’m back.

I am in snohomish wa and must confess I'm way behind on my 22-6" wide body so far all my small parts, stringers, transom, shelves and bottom chine to chine is complete and hope to set up the framing and flip it by fall 2023.
