Small flipping party with a small bottle of "Yukon Jack" because it's a small hull. Jallii, how tall are you anyway? Hoary Nights!

Some action shots of mocking up the interior...

Jallii! You've been pretty quiet! Im getting close. Minor set back with the engine harness... turns out that my 'new' engine was old enough to have the old 8-pin not the new 14 pin harness, so I had to order an adaptor. And also there is a difference between gen1 and gen2 merc cables. And no adaptor kit. But there is a uflex k35 adaptor that works the B185 console mount box for gen1's... we went through all of the mercury console mount boxes but none of them fit because I used the CLC peeler console measurements and its too narrow at the top, for anything but this uflex guy. I should have known something was up when I noticed that CLC actually sells the uflex box. Next time I make one of these consoles, I will widen it enough to get a mercury box to fit.
best,
KenB

Still waiting on merc parts. I would say avoid partsvu... they do this thing where they say parts are 'in stock', process your order, the take 2 weeks to say 'item is processing.' I finally had to call my credit card company to have the order cancelled. This is the second time this has happened, out of 5? 6? orders. Anyway, ebay to the rescue.

Boat survey says $12,500, so I'm happy with that. Still need to make sure that 9.9hp will get it up on plane, but after walking around the boat a bit, I think I will be ok.

Dunked the Jallii skiff April first, so I could get my fish log for the season started. I was really impressed with how stable the front platform is, to stand on. I was worried it was a little high. Boat is set up for fly fishing (nothing to catch fly line on) and I am thinking about dragging it out to the fly fishing film tour event in Chatham, April 19th. Maybe see you there, Jallii!

12 knots down wind, 9 knots up wind. Very stable though, Lucyyy was jumping all over the casting deck, rear seats, while under way. Pretty happy with how she turned out, listed for sale. The hydraulic steering was a big win.

Lucyyy pointed up a swan, and we saw an osprey with a herring snack. Happy summer to all.

Seatrailed with 2 guys, and she won't plane. At first I thought about swapping out a 15hp or a 20hp before common sense kicked in; she's a small boat! She's narrow. She planes great with one person.  Adding more HP doesn't change that she's a small boat and 500 lbs of beef is a lot of weight; she drops almost 2 inches into the water with the extra beef. I also considered swapping the 8.5P for a 9.5P prop, but I think its better to let the new owner decide on that. A 9.5P should touch 20 mph, but I don't know that I would do that with any chop around, and right now she's propped to pop right up on plane with one person at the console.

I used to run my widebody with a pitched out DF140... consider me reformed!

I think she'd be happiest on a lake/pond with the 10hp restriction. She can carry two or three people safely, and runs best when all the weight in at the console. Jumps right on plane, and the motor just hums along.

Jallii - if you want me to send you a video of her on plane, drop me your email address! (25mbs for a 22 sec video); Im really impressed with how stable she runs.
