Get yourself a bottle of Karo Syrup and the pie shell of your choice. Inspect the bottle to insure it has a Pecan Pie Recipie printed on it.

3 days prior to baking the pie measure out the required amount of Pecans.  Place them in a ziplock bag, add a few additional nuts for sampling. Add enough Jack Daniels to mostly cover nuts when air is removed from bag. Kneed bag a few times a day to mix and keep all nuts wet. Keep seal upright to prevent leaks.

On baking day drain whiskey and try a few of the sample nuts to verify they are ready.

Prepare pie as directed.  Unfortuntely marinade whiskey soaks up bitter components from the nuts and is not consumable.

If you can opperate a set of measuring spoons and cups you can make this pie with a frozen crust and amaze your spouse or significant other.

Two of these pies are normally made for Thanksgiving and Christmas at my house.
