Halibut marinade
« on: April 21, 2009, 02:42:00 PM »
I've used this recipe A LOT with halibut fillets.  I'm sure it would work well with any other firm, white fish.  Great with/over fresh stir-fried vegetables.

Halibut Marinade Recipe

1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon sesame oil (usually found in the oriental section)

Mix (as best you can) and pour over halibut.  Let marinate over night.  In the morning flip halibut over and spoon some marinade on top of fish.  I have let it marinade for two days before without any problems.

Grill over medium heat until fish turns white about halfway through.  Flip and grill on other side until white the rest of the way through.  If you want you can spoon some marinade on fish when you turn it over.
