Jim, Please order one hat for me.

A hat getting blown outta the boat is a good thing. I always use it for a man overboard drill. It's sorta realistic as you never know where or when it'll happen. Quick punch the MOB button on your plotter than...
The skipper gets to practice a Johnson turn or any other manuveur to get the boat back upwind/upcurret of the MOB/HOB. Than if you have crew you have someone continuosly point at it while you position. You can let them practice throwing the rescue bag/line at it as well as making the grab with the boat hook.

Also makes for good casting practice with jigs, spoons ,etc assuming your not in a busy inlet.

If you have three or more missed approaches and frustration sets in and it's still floating use it for target practice with your 12 Ga shark subdue'r.
Remain in neutral and move on to the next target

To anyone looking to order Tolman caps:  This thread is from 2010.  I started a new one (Sept 10, 2020) "Tolman caps order?"

Please post your order over there so I make sure I don't miss it.

Thanks,   te
